A day in the life* of a Mechanic :

• Perform morning tasks, which may include : Maintenance or repairs of diesel, CNG, gas and electrically-operated trucks as well as associated heavy duty equipmentUsing various power tools, hand instruments and cutting-edge equipmentCompleting daily reports, work orders and order necessary partsPlanning and scheduling repairs in M5 planner and procure partsAssisting in the review of mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedule
• Perform afternoon labor and administrative tasks, either continuing tasks from the morning or starting new ones
• schedule may vary depending on the day-to-day, start time, etc.

What’s required :

Mechanics must have :

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired
• Experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
• Follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records
• Willingness to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
• Exert physical effort including pushing, pulling, bending and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
• Use fine motor coordination with arm, hand, finger and leg dexterity
• Ability to kneel, crawl and climb
