Do you enjoy spending time with seniors or helping care for others? Being a Caregiver could be perfect for you. As a Caregiver, you will assist clients with their day-to-day activities so that they can continue living independently at home or in a care facility setting. This would entail:

• Providing companionship
• Taking clients for outings or exercise
• Performing basic meal preparation
• Performing light housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, taking out the garbage, doing the patient's laundry, vacuuming, and dusting
• Providing respite while the primary caregiver is out of the home
• Taking clients to appointments

• Supportive Care Worker Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate or completion of Term 1 of a PSW program
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Tuberculosis within 6 months
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
• Effective English communication skills, written and verbal
• Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach, ability to lift 50lbs (23 kg) independently, ability to assist clients with standing, walking, sitting; able to reposition clients in bed
• Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful and courteous manner
• Ability to use phone applications
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable car

• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last six months
• Submission of proof of three COVID vaccinations
• TB test completed within 6 months to a year
• Immunization record
• Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification
