We need someone like you to join as our Operations Supervisor, Warehouse & Delivery
In this role, you’ll be responsible for supervising and leading a team of broadly skilled logistics professionals to meet daily operational demands and support the generation, distribution, transmission and delivery of safe and reliable energy to FortisBC customers within a designated geographical area and / or facility.
In year 1, you will :
- Become familiar with our processes related to software applications relevant to the role, including SAP, Power BI, Utility Risk Management (URM), Accounts Payable Express, Primavera, and others.
- Gain a general understanding of the budgeting and financial oversight process and identify areas to improve efficiency.
- Manage and dispatch work safely, effectively and efficiently, ensuring quality oversight and compliance with work and industry standards, applicable metrics, and operational requirements
In year 2, you will :
- Participate in other work assignments and company initiatives that are not directly related to your primary role.
- Identify and action improvements to safety and efficiency.
- Mentor and coach unionized employees, provide ongoing training and development to support performance and quality of work.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as customers, contractors, and emergency response personnel.
What it takes :
- A bachelor’s degree or Diploma of Technology in a related discipline, plus four to seven years of related field experience in a leadership capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent leadership skills and adaptability to work and provide supervision in a fast-paced environment while managing changing priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage high stress situations (emergencies) in a calm manner.
- Great collaboration skills to innovate on existing processes, support colleagues with their development needs, and excel in a team environment.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer systems with demonstrated experience using Workspace, SAP, and Power BI.
- Travel is required.
