This position is an existing temporary full-time position ending August 28 2026.

SUMMARY:

Responsible for daily administration of all Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Claims (WSIB) including the data entering of all preliminary information regarding employee accidents into the Parklane system and responding to inquiries about claims. Represents the Companys interests through written correspondence to WSIB and gathers information regarding objections to claims.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Open and distribute the department mail.

- Contacts WSIB to obtain claim numbers and decisions.

- Ensures all department filing is updated including a purge of closed files.

- Reviews accident investigations ensures all necessary information is current follows-up with the store to obtain necessary information.

- Ensures all required forms are completed in a timely manner and sent to WSIB.

- Contacts the worker to set up immediate modified Return to Work programs.

- Prepares correspondence to WSIB regarding workers objection to immediate accommodation.

- Writes letters to WSIB regarding objection or request for Second Injury and Enhancement Fund (SIEF).

- Respond to claims inquiries from all levels including store management injured workers HR staff and WSIB staff.

- Completes WSIB requested employer reports.

- Maintains contact with WSIB regarding letters of objection.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- College study (2 years) in a relevant field

- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office

- General H.R. knowledge especially Workers Compensation and WSIB legislation
