Sensity has an exciting opportunity for a Training and Development Coordinator to join our Training & Consultation team.
Reporting to the Director of Training & Consultation, this position t his position is responsible for the design, development, facilitation and evaluation of training programs for new and existing employees and members of the public in support of Sensity's organizational objectives and commitment to enhance the lives of people who are deafblind through support, services, awareness, recognition and intervenor services.
The Training and Development Coordinator will also support the Mentorship and Development Specialist to ensure a high level of service is being delivered to the individuals supported by Sensity and sustains a practical approach to training and supporting the mentorship of new and existing employees.

Key Accountabilities :
- Designs and delivers mandatory in-house training curriculum aligning with the technical competencies of an Intervenor.
- Facilitates deafblindness and Intervenor Services training for new hires, existing employees and the general public (in-class and virtual).
- Facilitates and maintains Sensity's online training courses. In consultation with the Director of Training, refreshes the content of the online training courses as needed.
- Administers the registration and logistics for both the classroom and online course curriculums, inclusive of communications, answering general inquiries, preparing participant training materials and handouts, and arranging travel and accommodations for distant staff.
- Monitors and tracks participants' progress and assesses participants ' knowledge; collaborates with internal departments to determine operational training needs ;
and reviews mandatory training assignments to evaluate the effectiveness of training.
- Champions a supportive learning environment that facilitates employee growth and development.
- Performs post-training administration activities, such as maintaining training records for all employees within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Provides consultations to outside agencies and families seeking assistance or support with Intervenor Services for deafblind persons.
- Sources the appropriate training as requested by the Chief Executive Officer , Chief Services Officer, Director of Training and / or Director of Services to support the needs of the organization.
- Collaborates with the Mentorship and Development Specialists to provide and support a practical approach to the implementation of the theoretical training received.
- Fosters the growth and development of intervenors.
- Supports the development of the annual training calendar to ensure the quantity and frequency of training meets the needs of employees in the organization.
- Networks with external partners and organizations including activities like sitting on committees, participating in conferences and collaborating with peers to seek training and consultation opportunities.
- Performs other duties, as required.
Position requirements :
- Community college diploma (or equivalent experience) in Intervenor for Deafblind Persons is required; a community college diploma in education / adult learning or a related field is an asset.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with individuals who are deafblind.
- Working knowledge of American Sign Language, Signed Exact English and various communication methods · Strong computer proficiency, with working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management.
Familiarity with Smart Board and Google Docs is an asset.
- Strong training design, development, facilitation, and presentation expertise with proven ability to modify approaches and techniques to accommodate different learning styles.
- Experience managing learning through Brightspace or similar Learning Management System (LMS) is considered an asset.
- Ability to effectively support the growth and development of others.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Thorough understanding of the Technical and Behavioural Competencies for Intervenors.
- Solid time management, attention to detail and organizational skills. Adaptable and flexible with an ability to respond to changing work priorities, pressure and demands.
Working Environment and Demands :
- The position is primarily performed in the head office setting with the occasional need to attend / work in individual, residential or community settings.
- Occasional requirement for multi-tasking, simultaneous multiple urgent demands and / or work requiring attention to detail, subject to frequent, regular interruptions, or peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace or deadlines.
- Occasional exposure to uncomfortable, challenging or hazardous conditions, such as noise, driving in inclement weather / poor road conditions, or verbal
- Salaried position based on 40 hours / week, Monday to Friday with the occasional need to work evenings and This position is not required to be on-call.
