The role

Contributes to the overall success of the EDL ingestion team, IB Technology in Canada (Supporting CCA region) ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

What will you do?

• Champion a client centric culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Create design procedures, writing codes, performing testing, debug, trouble shoot technical issues to support EDL ingestions for CCA region.
• Responsible for developing, implementing and maintenance of data administration policy standards and models.
• Develop policies and procedures for database access and usage for the backup and recovery of data.
• Lead data administration work including creation of data dictionary, data security standards, data warehouse analysis and technical architect work to support EDL data lake.
• Confirm database architecture capabilities to support all EDL ingestions related requirements.
• Perform and develop data ingestion and extract request from EDL / Data Lake / Data Stage platform or other data source based on user request.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design data solutions that drive data governance.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML / ATF / sanctions and conduct risk.
