Role description

Our Structural Team is seeking a Senior or Intermediate Structural Engineer to join the growing team in Toronto West office. The successful individual will develop and manage projects for the construction of new or modifications to existing transportation, water & wastewater, commercial, industrial, power, and institutional buildings & structures, ensuring conformance with building codes. Perform responsible, professional level foundation & structural and seismic analysis, building and structural inspections.

The scope of projects handled ranges from minor renovations to major projects. The Structural Engineer will work with engineers and BIM modelers at the Toronto-West head office and other Arcadis offices globally, coordinating with other disciplines in house and multiple offices around the world.

Role accountabilities

• Lead the structural analysis & design of structures and the preparation of drawings and specifications
• Carry out seismic analysis, seismic design, and seismic performance assessment
• Coordination with other design disciplines (Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, etc…)
• Attend meetings and prepare presentations when required
• Prepare bid documentation for project pursuits
• Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes
• Review and respond to submittals (RFIs, Shop Drawings, etc.) during CA phase of projects
• Provide direction to, and work with, Engineering & CAD staff
• Provide peer reviews of other engineer's work
• Mentorship to Jr. Engineers
• Perform QA / QC activities
