Who we need

Reporting to Director, Engineering, we are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join us in a hands‑on technical product development role. You will bring deep technical expertise across the manufacturing process to ensure our design engineers deliver exceptional design for manufacturing results and best‑in‑class execution. You will oversee a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, guide the full product development cycle, strengthen technical standards, and ensure our engineering output delivers value, innovation, and operational excellence. Engaged across every stage of development, you will partner with Account Managers, Project Managers, clients, and in‑house and offshore manufacturing teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑time, and cost‑effective solutions. You will champion engineering across Business Units, integrating DFMA principles and value engineering into all product development activities.

This is a full‑time role based at our manufacturing headquarters.

Who you are

You are a highly technical Engineering Manager with strong product development expertise, deep mechanical design fundamentals, and a proven record of launching aesthetics‑driven consumer or retail products. You bring advanced proficiency in sheet metal assemblies and weldments, plastic injection moulding, extrusions, DFMA, and modern manufacturing methods demonstrated through products you have taken from concept to production. You provide sharp technical mentorship, challenge design concepts constructively, and push the team to deliver manufacturable and visually refined solutions.

What is in it for you

Impact. You will shape our engineering function by leading product development from concept to production, including early design collaboration, rigorous reviews, prototype validation, and final package release. Your decisions will elevate technical quality, manufacturability, and value engineering outcomes across major brands.

Ownership. You will set technical standards, strengthen processes, and enhance cross‑functional execution. From tightening SOP discipline to improving PDM data integrity, you will build systems that support faster, more consistent engineering execution. Your recommendations will influence how we design and deliver products.

Technical leadership.Your expertise will guide teams through complex mechanical decisions, from evaluating design intent to shaping advanced sheet metal, injection moulded, and extrusion‑based assemblies. You will challenge assumptions, mentor engineers, and ensure every product achieves manufacturable, high‑quality, and cosmetically refined results.

Career development. As we expand capabilities, adopt new technologies, and strengthen global partnerships, you will grow with us by deepening your leadership impact, broadening your technical influence, and helping build a high‑performance engineering culture.

In this role, you will :

  • Lead and develop a multi‑disciplinary engineering team. You will guide Design Engineers, Product Modellers, Engineering Schedulers, and Quality Control Technicians. You will recruit, onboard, mentor, conduct reviews, set goals, execute development plans, and foster a high‑performance culture. You will manage resource sharing across Business Units, balance seasonal demand, and monitor time‑off approvals.
  • Oversee the full product development cycle. You will manage engineering activities from concept through prototype sign‑off, ensuring all deliverables meet technical requirements, client expectations, and internal standards. You will maintain rigorous expectations for presentations, engineering packages, and documentation to support efficient transitions to production.
  • Ensure engineering discipline and provide strong technical leadership. You will offer clear feedback, approvals, and direction on engineering outputs. You will lead brainstorming sessions, embed value engineering and DFMA principles, and review design concepts through hands‑on mentorship. You will guide advanced mechanical design across sheet metal, injection moulding, and extrusion assemblies to ensure robust, manufacturable, and cosmetically refined outcomes. You will identify opportunities to strengthen methodologies, quality standards, and processes.
  • Optimize workload planning and cross‑unit collaboration. You will facilitate resource sharing, anticipate workload fluctuations, and partner with peers to balance engineering capacity. You will work with resource analysts to support tools and processes that improve visibility and planning.
  • Drive strategic planning and process improvement. You will help define development plans for the team, strengthen capabilities, and support the creation of tools and processes that enhance project visibility, workload management, and organisational efficiency.
  • Strengthen compliance and technical standards. You will audit adherence to SOPs, PDM file management, custom properties, Bills of Materials, engineering package completeness, milestone delivery, and task updates. You will identify training needs, reinforce BOM accuracy and PDM datacard usage, and uphold all safety, policy, health, and environmental standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement. You will recommend enhancements to methodologies, quality standards, and workflows to drive operational excellence and innovation.

You have :

  • The education and experience. You have a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and 8 to 10 years of progressive product development experience within a custom manufacturing environment. Experience in POP or retail design is an asset.
  • The technical expertise. You are highly skilled with SolidWorks, PDM, and standard productivity tools. You bring strong mechanical design judgement and advanced modelling skills aligned with industry best practices. You have deep experience launching products with refined aesthetics and tight integration between Industrial Design and Engineering. You have advanced proficiency in :

  • Sheet metal design : bend radii, reliefs, K‑factor, flat patterns, tolerances, and cosmetic metal part design.
  • Injection moulding : draft, uniform wall sections, ribbing, sink anticipation, knit lines, toolable geometry, and collaboration with tooling engineers and mould flow analysis.
  • Extrusion design : profile design, wall rules, die limitations, secondary operations, and integrating extrusions into structural and aesthetic assemblies.
  • The leadership capabilities. You have demonstrated success leading technical teams with credibility grounded in real‑world product development and DFMA best practices. You foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • The communication and facilitation skills. You communicate clearly across functions and levels, provide effective direction, and present technical information with confidence. You build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and partners.
  • The business and strategic insight. You understand client objectives, manage expectations, translate requirements into practical engineering solutions, identify process gaps, and positively influence decisions.
  • The adaptability and execution. You manage multiple priorities, navigate change, make sound decisions, and consistently deliver high‑quality work on time.
  • What you can expect from the interview process :

  • A virtual interview with a Talent Advisor discussing your interest in the role. The conversation will be recorded using BrightHire, an AI‑powered video interview tool. More details will be shared when you are invited to interview.
  • A virtual interview with the Director of Engineering will give you a chance to share your experience in people leadership, engineering management, and process improvement.
  • A final in‑person interview with the Director of Engineering, VP of Manufacturing and the Materials and Production Process Specialist to learn more about the role and the vision for the team.
