Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Kitchener has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Operator. This position is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of CNC Machines. The Machine operator installs raw material into the machines, and loads programs to produce quality parts on schedule within company guidelines. Please note, the wage range for this position is $28.72 / hr to $34.75 / hr based on experience. This position will be on rotating shifts : morning, afternoon and nights.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor the Machine Operator’s major activities and responsibilities include the following.

• Load a variety of raw material and programs into the CNC machines
• Ensure proper tooling for part and program are present in the CNC machine
• Read blueprints, sketches, designs, operation sheets, and drawings
• Start and monitor machine throughout machining cycle
• Perform intervention as required to keep machine operating per production planning
• Checking of product dimensions periodically throughout machining process
• Communicate knowledge across shifts of machining information

Position Requirements

The physical requirements of this job are average. The daily routine will entail standing / sitting at the deburring station, moving parts to and from the department.
