Job description

Overview

As a member of the Cloud Storage team, responsible for supporting the banks CAP initiative with respect to Google Cloud Storage solutions.
Support and create IaC code, automation, policies and patterns around Google Cloud NetApp Volumes (GCNV), Google Cloud Storage buckets (GCS) and persistent disks.
Design, development and maintenance of cloud platforms, services, and components to enable safe enterprise-wide use of public cloud offerings.
Technical ownership / leadership of a component of a larger product.
Ability to build and operate highly available and scalable software and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design, implementing, and refactoring code (typically Go, Python).

Ensure software, programs and applications are developed and / or configured to meet high availability, integrity and reliability, security, and compliance requirements.

Work with other lead engineers and architects on breaking-down, scoping and estimating tasks.

Collaborate with application teams for successful onboarding onto the Platform.

Participate in planning and retrospective sessions, attend stand-ups, etc.

Provide mentorship, peer review and code review.

Lead a product / service, and define functions or features for cloud platforms, leading the work of 4+ engineers.

Build and operate the cloud platform for reliability and scalability.

Engage in Agile practices : daily stand-ups, 2-week sprints, track work in Kanban, and progress toward roadmap tasks.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on technical experience with Cloud Environments such as GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.

3+ years of Terraform coding experience.

1-2 years of hands-on cloud operations and administration experience with GCP.

5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Operations, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering Operations roles.

5+ years of hands-on experience with development / scripting languages, container-based technologies, configuration management tools, CI / CD, and Infrastructure as Code.

Nice-To-Have Skills

Unix administration skills.

DevOps experience.

GCNV experience.

GCS experience.

Persistent Storage solutions experience.

Soft Skills

Good oral and written communication skills.

Passion for driving teams towards high performance and quality craftsmanship.

Ability to communicate with internal stakeholders on a call.

Education

Bachelor (equivalent or higher) degree in computer science or engineering / mathematics discipline.
