  • Participate in and drive cost reduction opportunities associated with manufacturing processes and the supply base.
  • Support the DFM (Design for Manufacturing) analysis process between designers and Electronic Assembly Contract Manufacturers.
  • Review and provide input to the supply chain regarding contract manufacturer quotes and NREs.
  • Manage the technical relationship between HITACHI and its suppliers, including the technical evaluation and qualification of new suppliers.
  • Assist with CM yield improvement (monitoring metrics and initiating action plans to improve yield through process or design improvements).
  • Support procurement and quality departments in the evaluation and audit of existing and potential new suppliers.
  • Support the ramp‑up of new suppliers (HITACHI product, process, and procedures).
  • Coordinate and resolve technical issues between manufacturing and engineering.
  • Publish and maintain HITACHI workmanship standards employed by Electronic Assembly Contract Manufacturers, in addition to Industry Standards.
  • Work closely with the HW Test Solutions team to propose and develop manufacturing test strategies for newly designed products.
  • Provide input to the Engineering Change Notice process.
  • Review and verify HITACHI mechanical and assembly drawings, BOMs, specifications, and electronic component datasheets with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Create HITACHI internal part numbers in Material Master in SAP.
  • Assemble and validate product data packs.

Key Requirements

  • University Bachelor or Master Degree in Industrial / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in electronic manufacturing as a Manufacturing Engineer and New Product Introduction to manufacturing.
  • Broad experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Hardware Design.
  • Expertise in applying NPI (New Product Introduction) best practices, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Clear understanding of PCBA, box build, and cable assembly operations in a high‑mix, low‑volume environment.
  • Understanding of printed circuit board manufacturing processes.
  • Advanced logical reasoning to develop effective designs for products and processes.
  • Proven initiative and resourcefulness in solving manufacturing problems identified by Contract Manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD, Solid Edge, etc.).
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC‑A‑600, IPC‑A‑610, and IPC‑A‑620).
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commitment to staying current with relevant technology.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • English language fluency is mandatory.
  • Strong verbal skills to interact effectively and professionally across various forums.
  • Well‑developed technical writing skills for reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and tactful communication skills to work confidently with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience managing contract manufacturers and suppliers.
