We are seeking an experienced
DevOps Engineer
to join our team and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based application hosting and integration services on
Azure
and
AWS . This role is critical to enabling secure, scalable, and automated solutions for Ontario Public Service applications within the Shared Utility Service (SUS) environment.
About the Environment
The SUS platform provides a hybrid cloud infrastructure hosting approximately 180 internal and public-facing government applications. It supports both traditional and cloud-native workloads, ensuring security, scalability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain cloud environments for hosting applications.
Develop and manage
DevSecOps pipelines
for automated build and deployment.
Create and update
service templates
for provisioning cloud resources.
Configure and maintain platform components such as logging, monitoring, alerting, and vulnerability detection.
Support operations teams in troubleshooting platform-related issues.
Implement security safeguards to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
Mandatory Skills (Must-Have)
DevSecOps pipeline build and maintenance
Application runtime environment provisioning using automation tools
Cloud architecture and deployment model design
OpenShift administration, Azure PowerShell, and Azure CLI
Experience building Terraform templates and Ansible playbooks
Hands‑on experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
Additional Skills
Knowledge of network topologies and protocols.
Understanding of storage and relational database fundamentals.
Security analysis and vulnerability mitigation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of hands‑on experience deploying and optimizing applications on public cloud (Azure / AWS).
Cloud architecture certification (Azure or AWS).
Experience with Kubernetes‑based platforms (OpenShift).
Familiarity with traditional N‑tier application hosting and technologies (RHEL, IBM WebSphere, etc.).
Exposure to DevSecOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus.
Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (SAST, DAST, container scanning).
