Collins Aerospace is looking to hire Assembly Technician who will be reporting to the Assembly Supervisor on the weekday afternoon shift. As Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and testing of landing gear and or landing gear components.
Work Location : Onsite at Oakville Facility, Ontario - Canada
Work Shift : Weekday Afternoon Shift - Monday – Thursday (4 : 00PM - 2 : 00AM)
What You Will Do
Responsible for assembling and testing of landing gear shock struts and components per Collins drawing and Acceptance Test Procedure requirements
Perform replacement / repair / retro-fit of MLG, NLG, Linkages, Actuators and LRU’s per Assembly Process Sheets, Engineering Instructions and drawing requirements
Perform electrical / hydraulic functional tests per Engineering Instruction and Acceptance Test Procedures
Work in a safe team-oriented environment and participate as an active member of the implementation & execution of TPM, LEAN, 5S, and FOD prevention principles
Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
Support quality initiatives by performing operator-self-verification (OSV)
Perform other duties as assigned (e.g. sub-assemblies, sealing, bushing installation, calibration & shelf life activities).
Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 3 months.

Qualifications We Require
Typically requires Grade 12 diploma or equivalent accredited college / trade program.
3+ years related assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in hydraulic & electrical control systems and using test equipment.
Experience in reading assembly instructions and / or blueprints.
The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
Qualifications We Prefer
Previous Landing Gear Assembly experience considered to be a strong asset.
Hold Aircraft maintenance engineer certificate (AME)
Excellent verbal and written communication (English) and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment
