Job description

D2L is a cloud company that is modernizing education and building the Future of Work. The old models of teaching and learning are in the midst of the largest transformation in history, and D2L is at the heart of that fundamental shift.

New models of teaching and learning enable a personalized, student‑centric experience – and deliver improved retention, engagement, satisfaction, and results for learners of all ages – in schools, campuses, and companies.

D2L is disrupting the way the world learns, by providing the next generation learning environment and solutions to engage and inspire learners. And most importantly, by giving customers a platform that is easy, flexible, and smart. No other company provides a solution as robust and innovative as D2L.

D2L has had a singular mission for 25 years and is dedicated to that same mission in the years ahead : to transform the way the world learns – and by doing so, we will help improve human potential globally.

Every application we receive is personally reviewed by a member of our Talent Acquisition team - yes, a real person looks at your resume! While we use AI tools internally to streamline tasks like meeting notes, summaries, and administrative work, these tools never rank resumes, make hiring decisions, or influence candidate evaluations.

We are seeking a Content Strategist with a passion for localization and technical writing to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, a talent for clear communication, and a desire to make a global impact. As part of our team, you’ll help craft and manage content strategies that are user‑centric, culturally relevant, and technically accurate.

Your collaboration with cross‑functional teams and focus on user experience will contribute significantly to the overall success of our products and customers.

How will I make an impact?

  • Plan and create multi‑lingual content strategies in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
  • Produce high‑quality, persona‑specific documentation that meets applicable writing and information architecture standards.
  • Create accessible gifs and video tutorials to help end‑users succeed in their daily tasks.
  • Develop and follow style guide and writing guidelines to drive brand consistency.
  • Develop, document, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive efficiency.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to understand product and documentation requirements
  • Manage release cycle tasks and assignments within set deadlines.
  • Develop, conduct, and track usability tests with internal / external stakeholders.
  • Analyze productivity metrics.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to address multi‑lingual content gaps.

What you’ll bring to the role :

  • Assist in developing and implementing content strategies for global audiences.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the use of AI to enhance the documentation and process quality.
  • Contribute to the creation and management of style guides, glossaries, and templates to ensure consistency across all content.
  • Conduct content audits to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Localization and Internationalization

  • Collaborate with translators and regional teams to adapt content for different languages and cultures.
  • Review and QA localized content to ensure accuracy and cultural relevance.
  • Collaborate with translation vendors to maintain translation memories for consistency across regions.
  • Technical Writing and Documentation

  • Write, edit, and organize technical content such as release notes, FAQs, help topics, blog posts, how‑to video tutorials, and other media.
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and UX designers to ensure content meets technical and user requirements.
  • Update and maintain documentation to reflect new features and user feedback.
  • Collaboration and Communication

  • Work with cross‑functional teams to align content with business objectives and user needs.
  • Assist in presenting content strategies and findings to stakeholders.
  • Provide input on content design and structure to enhance user experience.
  • Performance Tracking and Improvement

  • Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of localized and technical content.
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to refine and optimize content.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in content strategy, localization, and technical writing.
  • Suggested Qualifications / Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree, technical writing certificate, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in using version control tools such as GitHub.
  • Experience working with XML‑based documentation publishing software, such as MadCap Flare.
  • Familiarity with localization tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ), content and learning management systems (CMS and LMS).
  • Understanding of SEO principles and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • This position is to fill an existing vacancy

The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience.
