This is a newly created position. You will work with a team of senior engineers, EITs, technologists, BIM / CAD designers, and project managers to deliver high‑quality, challenging structural design projects in industrial, commercial, institutional, and municipal sectors. Collaborative work with other disciplines—architects, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers—is also expected.

  • Prepare technical specifications and contribute to project documentation.
  • Prepare structural analysis and calculation reports.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate conditions and provide conclusions and recommendations.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations with little supervision.
  • Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EITs and technicians.
  • Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high‑quality design solutions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering + four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in structural engineering design and analysis.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or other provinces in good standing.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
  • Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules.
  • Ability to fit into a fast‑paced team environment and / or work independently.
  • Self‑motivated, detail oriented and able to multitask.
  • Preferred Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in any state of USA is an asset.
  • 8+ years of experience in structural design of industrial plants, commercial buildings, government facilities, municipal infrastructures, and transit stations.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software including ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, RISA 3D, and CAD / BIM tools (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD).
  • Strong understanding of current building codes and design standards (e.g., NBC, OBC, CSA S16, CSA A23.1, CSA A23.3, CSA S304, CSA O86, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.).
  • Secret‑level security clearance or eligibility with the Canadian government.
