Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Kafka Engineer with strong expertise in Apache Kafka, Python development, Linux systems, and monitoring tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing and supporting Kafka-based solutions, integrating monitoring platforms such as Grafana, and working with large-scale distributed systems.

The candidate will work in an Agile, globally distributed team, contributing to development and integration activities within an investment banking environment. Knowledge of MongoDB and strong troubleshooting skills are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain Kafka-based applications and distributed messaging solutions.

• Work with Apache Kafka and its built-in tools for event streaming, message processing, and data integration.

• Develop and maintain applications, automation scripts, and backend components using Python.

• Integrate Kafka applications with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana.

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability of Kafka-based solutions.

• Work with Linux environments, including system commands, shell scripting, and operational troubleshooting.

• Support integration with MongoDB and other enterprise data platforms.

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver scalable technical solutions.

• Participate in Agile development activities within a globally distributed team.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues by analyzing system behavior, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions.

• Contribute to large-scale development projects in an investment banking environment.

• Develop technical documentation and follow established development and operational standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong hands-on development experience with Apache Kafka and its ecosystem tools.

• Experience with Kafka configuration, integration, event streaming, and message processing.

• Strong Python development and scripting skills.

• Experience integrating monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana.

• Good understanding of Linux operating systems, shell scripting, and command-line utilities.

• Experience working with distributed systems and large-scale applications.

• Knowledge of MongoDB and database integration.

• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.

• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the Investment Banking or Financial Services domain.

• Knowledge of Kafka monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.

• Experience with production support and application observability.

• Strong understanding of messaging architecture and event-driven systems.

• Curiosity and ability to investigate complex technical issues to identify underlying causes.
