Job description

A top-tier electrical contracting and systems integration firm is seeking a dedicated Project Manager/Estimator to join their thriving Service Division team in Nanaimo, BC. In this pivotal role, you will bridge technical expertise with outstanding customer service, overseeing electrical service projects from initial cost estimation and tender submission to final execution and closure. Working alongside a collaborative group of professionals, you will manage project financials, coordinate labor, handle procurement, and cultivate lasting relationships with clients, general contractors, and field staff.

Responsibilities
Identify potential business opportunities and build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors

Estimate project costs, prepare accurate change orders, and submit competitive tenders

Review contract terms and conditions to identify and mitigate potential operational and financial risks

Oversee end-to-end project financials, including budget management, purchasing, billing, and scheduling

Coordinate directly with field personnel, foremen, and superintendents, conducting jobsite visits as needed to ensure smooth project delivery

Conduct post-project reviews with site leadership to evaluate performance, challenges, and key successes

Qualifications
Valid Electrical Trade Certification, Electrical Engineering Degree, or Electrical Technologist Diploma/Certificate

At least 2 years of proven experience in electrical project management and/or estimating within a related sector

Hands-on experience with estimating software (Accubid proficiency is a strong asset)

Commercial electrical service project experience is highly preferred

FSR B designation is considered an asset

Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with software tools like MS Office, Procore, and Teams
