This high-visibility role offers exceptional influence across the COO organization, technology leadership, and the bank's most complex operational systems. Shape the future of RBC's clearing and settlement platforms while directly impacting the efficiency and resilience of global capital markets operations. If you thrive on orchestrating complex portfolios, solving operational challenges at scale, and building high-performing teams, this is your opportunity to make lasting impact.

Principal responsibilities

  • Performance measurement: Own program metrics, KPIs, and dashboards. Measure delivery velocity, budget adherence, and business value realization. Present portfolio health and ROI to senior leadership and the COO office.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Lead engagement with operations, technology, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders. Drive oversight of major initiatives including regulatory reporting modernization, collateral platform enhancements, and clearing infrastructure optimization.
  • Team leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team of program managers and delivery leads. Foster accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Technology risk & compliance: Ensure portfolio alignment with regulatory requirements, cyber standards, and RBC risk frameworks. Coordinate with Risk and Compliance teams; maintain risk registers and drive mitigation.
  • Enterprise alignment: Align S&C technology roadmaps with T&O strategic priorities, including Helios adoption and cloud migration. Represent CBOS S&C in cross-functional forums.
  • Thought leadership: Refine delivery best practices and provide strategic guidance on portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and capability building.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 10+ years in program or portfolio management in complex, regulated financial services; 5+ years in leadership overseeing concurrent transformational, regulatory and modernization initiatives.
  • Financial industry experience must, Capital Markets experience; expertise in settlement, clearing, or middle office operations preferred.
  • Proven ability to establish governance frameworks, measure performance, and present insights to executive leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills; experience building alignment across operations, technology, risk, and executive teams.
  • Strategic mindset combined with operational rigor; ability to think systemically while executing with discipline and accountability.

Nice to have:

  • Experience enablement, or AI/ML rollouts.
  • Familiarity with settlement/clearing platforms (BPS/ADP, Impact, Summit, Murex, etc.).
  • Exposure to Agile at scale (SAFe, LeSS) and distributed global team management.

What you'll bring

  • Data-driven mindset combined with uncompromising focus on delivery quality and on-time, on-budget execution.
  • Strong communication skills translating complex technical and operational challenges into clear narratives for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative leadership building trust and influence across functions without direct authority.
