ROLE: Director of Finance (Tracxtion) TEAM: Finance LOCATION: North America (Hybrid)

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Tracxtion is a next-generation hybrid agency network built for the evolving landscape of customer experience and brand engagement, helping brands navigate a world where traditional media and marketing boundaries have blurred. By blending strategy, creativity, media, digital, and AI-enabled execution, Tracxtion drives measurable results through a commitment to hybrid collaboration that seamlessly integrates human talent with cutting-edge tools and partnerships. From AI-powered advertising and content creation to media planning, experiential events, and in-store retail solutions, Tracxtion partners with leading brands to deliver impactful, innovative, and scalable omnichannel experiences that resonate in the modern marketplace.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As Director of Finance, you will own the integrity, speed, and scalability of the accounting function across a multi-entity marketing agency group operating in the United States and Canada. Sitting within the Finance team and reporting to the VP Finance, this role ensures accurate consolidation, disciplined revenue recognition, strong internal controls, and reliable financial reporting to executive leadership and investors. This is a hands‑on leadership role operating at both strategic and execution levels, responsible for delivering clean audits, controlled working capital, consistent margin reporting, and scalable infrastructure to support growth and M&A activity.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, delivering a 10–12 business day consolidated close.
  • Consolidate multi-entity financials across the US and Canada, including FX translation and intercompany eliminations.
  • Prepare and present financial results to the VP Finance and executive leadership team.
  • Maintain technical accounting documentation and accounting policies across entities.
  • Ensure accurate accrual accounting and alignment between subledgers and the general ledger.

Revenue & Project Accounting Oversight

  • Standardize revenue recognition policies across retainers, time and materials, milestone contracts, and performance-based incentives.
  • Oversee WIP calculations, accrued revenue, deferred revenue, and contract liabilities.
  • Ensure CRM and project management systems reconcile accurately to the general ledger.
  • Monitor gross versus net media treatment and margin consistency by client and service line.
  • Improve visibility into revenue quality and margin performance across agencies.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and segregation of duties.
  • Prepare for and manage the annual audit process, ensuring clean audits with minimal adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with US sales tax and Canadian GST/HST/QST requirements.
  • Oversee risk management processes and strengthen audit readiness across entities.
  • Monitor DSO, DPO, and WIP aging to support disciplined working capital management.
  • Oversee AR reserve methodology and billing accuracy, targeting billing error rates below 1%.
  • Support cash forecasting through accurate accruals and timely financial reporting.
  • Drive improvements in collections visibility and revenue conversion.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 8–15 accounting professionals, including Accounting Managers and Senior Accountants.
  • Build performance dashboards and KPIs to measure close efficiency, margin visibility, and control effectiveness.
  • Drive automation initiatives within ERP and reporting tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Standardize accounting processes and reporting structures across agencies.
  • Lead accounting integration efforts for acquired agencies, normalizing policies, systems, and reporting structures.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • CPA designation (US or Canada required).
  • 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity consolidation.
  • 5+ years managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Experience within marketing agency, media, or professional services environments.
  • Strong background in project-based and percentage-of-completion revenue accounting.
  • Deep understanding of internal controls, audit processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to build scalable accounting infrastructure to support growth and M&A.
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving, and growth-oriented environment.

Benefits

Wedon’tjust talk about balance, growth, and culture — we build for it:

  • Work-Life Flexibility: Hybrid setup, up to 28 paid days off, winter holiday shutdowns, and dog-friendly office vibes.
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Health, dental, and vision plans, plus Salt Bucks to spend on what matters to you — wellness, RRSPs, or extra time off.
  • Growth-Driven Culture: Dedicated Salt Days, top-tier learning access, and formal development opportunities.
