Manager to join our team.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Environment Manager to lead the strategy, design, and coordination of application environments and infrastructure for a large-scale transformation project in the financial services domain. This critical role will oversee the integration of a number of systems, requiring a high level of visibility and collaboration across multiple internal and external teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise and a strong ability to lead efforts to ensure the smooth provisioning, management, and uptime of the environments across various stages of development and testing. This role will also be responsible for leading, managing and guiding a team of environment specialists.
While the role does not require hands-on scripting or system development, it demands strong leadership and coordination to manage and optimize complex environments and ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- You bring 10+ years of hands-on experience in Environment Management and Application Support
- End‑to‑end management of test and non‑production environments (Dev, SIT, UAT, Pre‑Prod)
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale applications in complex environments
- Proven experience with both on‑premise and cloud-based infrastructure and platforms
- You understand and appreciate the importance of timely environment provisioning, refresh, maintenance, patching, and decommissioning, as critical elements of effective management of environments and dependencies
- You experience has given you an edge as it relates to Environment inventory management, configuration tracking, and documentation to ensure repeatable success
- You have a good understanding and proven experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices / areas, including: Incident management, major incidents, problem management, defect management, etc.
- You have proven experience leading and driving resolution to major incidents, including triage, coordination, resolution, and root cause analysis (RCA)
- You apply critical thinking to understand the root causes, and can implement permanent corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future incidents
- Experience working with industry standard service tools related to - Incident, Change, Problem, CMDB, Monitoring, etc.
- Project and release coordination to ensure environment readiness
- Risk and dependency management across multiple concurrent projects
- Collaboration with infrastructure, network, database, middleware, and cloud teams
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the Finance Domain, including Payments, Banking, Trading, and Capital Markets
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
- Strong background in Infrastructure Management
- You’ve had hands-on experience managing diverse systems (e.g. mainframe - preferred, linux, windows, etc.)
