Location : Surrey, BC.

Work Schedule : Monday-Friday

Position Overview

We are seeking an extremely skilled and experienced Safety Coordinator / Manager to join our team based out of Surrey BC.

As the Safety Coordinator / Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and customers in multiple dealerships.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement effective HSE programs.
  • Lead, identify, and manage HSE risk across the region.
  • Monitor HSE effectiveness and report on organizational WHS performance.
  • Mentor and coach team members to positively impact the safety culture.
  • Ability to engage with and influence a sizeable operational workforce ( Unionized and Non-Union).
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in safety regulations.
  • Travel inter-provincial, which may include overnight stays.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Certificate / Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least five (5) years in a Health, Safety, and Environmental position.
  • Able to travel to various branches regularly.
  • Previous experience with the automotive / Heavy truck industry is an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Safety management software titles.
  • Above average communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Working in a similar industry or environment is considered an asset.
