SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. Manager, Automation and Measurement Engineering manages and provides leadership in the provision of engineering services to support the planning, design, installation, operation and maintenance of measurement, automation, and control systems.
This includes managing engineering activities to provide technical support, and leadership in new technologies for the continued safe operation of these systems.
Position Details
Non-union - This position is permanent full time.
Key Accountabilities
Manage and provide leadership to the Automation and Measurement Engineering workgroup to ensure effective and efficient delivery of engineering services for automation, control systems, measurement and gas quality.
Manage and coordinate the technical support provided to operations for maintaining measurement, regulation, automation PLC (programmable logic controller) and quality control equipment, as well as other operational control and safety equipment.
Identify, oversee development of, and approve and maintain plant control standards, specifications, procedures, and processes related to the design, installation, security, operation and maintenance of RTU (remote terminal unit) or PLC and field control equipment installations.
Coordinate and delegate work assignments and monitor level of service and progress of assignments, ensuring compliance with policies and legislative / regulatory requirements and to ensure workgroup commitments are met.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement advanced technology or systems that provide business benefits, such as reduced costs or enhancements to business process or information.
Identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains relating to the design, installation, operation and maintenance of pipeline and facility control systems and associated equipment.
Participate in the development of annual and long term capital budgets to ensure that automation and measurement equipment is available to meet future project needs.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic Systems, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial or Petroleum preferred).
Professional Engineer Designation registered to practice in Saskatchewan.
Seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience related to the design, regulation and codes associated to pipeline and compression facilities in the oil and gas industry.
Ability to coach, mentor and influence employee engagement while building and maintaining effective relationships and empowering team members to succeed.
Ability to foster a culture focused on innovation and teamwork.
Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
