Nomad is looking for a talented underwriter to join our team. The Underwriting Specialist will have a strong understanding of credit analysis and risk assessment, with the ability to evaluate financial information and provide insights that support our clients' needs.

About You:

You are an experienced and detail-oriented credit professional with a deep understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and financial assessment. Your strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills enable you to assess creditworthiness, support underwriting decisions, and develop strategies to mitigate risk while facilitating business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting (75%):

• Review new credit applications, assess credit risk, and make data-driven credit decisions in accordance with company policies.
• Utilize external credit reporting agencies to gather and validate credit data.
• Analyze financial statements, credit histories, and industry trends to assess potential clients' creditworthiness.
• Conduct in-depth credit investigations on existing customers to determine appropriate credit limits.
• Communicate credit decisions and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Reporting and Collaboration (25%):

• Compile reports on key credit metrics, risk exposure, and portfolio performance.
• Ensure compliance with corporate credit policies and risk management guidelines.
• Participate in credit information-sharing forums and internal high-risk account reviews.
• Work closely with Sales and Management teams to align credit strategies with business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 2 to 4 years of commercial credit experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
• Strong business acumen with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving; with confidence to navigate ambiguity in decision-making and negotiation.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial insights clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, contract review, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proficiency in advanced computer applications and financial analysis tools.
• Experience in optimizing credit and risk operations.
