The Opportunity
The Senior Plant Supervisor will be the operational leader on the floor, overseeing production employees while ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and accountability. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with people leadership , process coordination, and continuous improvement.
You will act as the link between operations planning and daily execution — making sure jobs flow smoothly, teams are supported, and standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership & Scheduling
- Provide floor leadership with a dotted-line responsibility to all production employees
- Take the weekly production schedule from the Operations Manager and facilitate daily scheduling, job flow, and production meetings
- Lead job orientation, workflow planning, and sequencing to meet delivery commitments
People Leadership & Accountability
Manage employee performance, discipline, and coachingConduct performance reviews and support employee developmentAllocate resources effectively to meet production and quality targetsMentor and train new and existing employees on machinery, processes, and best practicesQuality Control & Continuous Improvement
Oversee quality control processes and be responsible for non-conformance dispositionIdentify root causes and implement corrective actionsMaintain high standards that align with the company’s reputation for excellenceInventory & Purchasing
Manage inventory movement and accuracySupport purchasing activities as requiredHealth, Safety & Compliance
Champion health and safety, PPE compliance, and ongoing trainingSchedule and manage annual inspections and certifications (forklifts, cranes, fire extinguishers, etc.)Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environmentTechnical Leadership
Identify special tooling requirements for jobs and lead in-house tool design in collaboration with the teamSupport maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performanceProvide input on process improvements and equipment utilizationCustomer Interaction
Support customer communication when required, particularly around job requirements, timelines, or technical considerationsQualifications & Experience
8–10+ years of hands-on metal fabrication experienceSupervisory and / or management experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environmentStrong CAD design skills (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)Solid understanding of machining processesKnowledge of metallurgy (alloys, hardness, material selection, etc.)Welding knowledge and / or practical experienceEngineering or design-related education is strongly preferredExperience working with ERP systemsStrong understanding of fabrication machinery and shop equipmentThe Ideal Leader Is Someone Who Is…
