Software Engineering Manager – Sustaining Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and grow a globally distributed team of software engineers.
• Hire, mentor, and develop career pathways for team members.
• Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for engineering effectiveness and quality.
• Own timely delivery of bug fixes, patches, and technical solutions for Ubuntu, OpenStack, Ceph, Kubernetes, Juju, and MAAS.
• Advocate for modern software development practices across the organization.
• Build a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with Canonical’s values.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with other teams and senior stakeholders.
• Represent Canonical in external customer interactions and promote the brand.
