INTEGRATED ONTARIO WORKS CASEWORKERS FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

This is a continuous posting based on operational need and will be used to create an eligibility list to fill upcoming opportunities within the next twelve months.

ABOUT THE ROLES

Integrated Ontario Works Benefits Caseworker

  • Reporting to the Supervisor, Social Assistance, is the first point of in person contact and is responsible for providing a full range of functions of the Ontario Works program to determine clients’ financial and program eligibility in an empathetic client centred manner;
  • including conducting Verification Interviews, monitoring and conducting ongoing financial and benefits eligibility assessments / reviews and making determinations about the refusal, reduction or cancellation of assistance;

responsible for benefit administration including completing applications; and works in close partnership with the Integrated Ontario Works Wraparound Caseworker and internal partners to provide an integrated, client centric approach to serving their clients.

Integrated Ontario Works Wraparound Caseworker

  • Reporting to the Supervisor, Social Assistance, is the primary point of contact for the client and is responsible for developing and updating a detailed case plan, setting client goals, and monitoring progress as well as identifying and working collaboratively with specialized and enhanced wraparound services internally and externally to meet with client’s needs;
  • overseeing / coordinating all aspects of a client’s case; providing intensive case management to Ontario Works clients in an empathetic client centred manner;

providing transition support services; working with a team of internal and external support to coordinate all aspects of the client’s case and address service needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Integrated Ontario Works Benefits Caseworker

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma (a minimum 2-year program) in Social Service, Social Work or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of industry-related legislation and regulations applicable to Social Assistance services and programs delivering community resources, including health, counselling and employment programs and services.

Integrated Ontario Works Wraparound Caseworker

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma (a minimum 2 year program ) in Social Service, Social Work or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two (2) year experience with direct intensive case management experience providing client focused services in a social services environment.
  • Satisfactory Police Criminal Background Check.
  • Ability to travel to off site locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required
