Overview
Staff Plus is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's innovative team. The ideal candidate will develop, improve, and support manufacturing tools, machinery, and processes to achieve superb safety, quality, productivity, and cost savings. Will serve as the manufacturing engineering department’s representative to other departments and be an active participant in project teams. Other tasks include develop and maintain knowledge of various topics and applications to recommend and implement new programs and concepts. Design, build and document fixtures and tools and resolve equipment issues. When appropriate, manage projects (and personnel) that involve the research, planning, and implementation of Capital Expense of equipment, Continuous Improvement of production lines and processes, and division and company-wide Industry 4.0 upgrades.

Responsibilities :
- Support daily manufacturing operations by resolving production issues, reducing downtime, and providing technical assistance to Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and related departments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design Engineering, QA, and Management on manufacturability, ECOs, production schedules, new products, and process changes.
- Improve production processes using LEAN, flow manufacturing methods, Six Sigma tools, DMAIC, Ishikawa / root cause analysis, SPC, and other data-driven techniques.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data using statistical software such as JMP , QI Macros , and Excel ; prepare reports, visual analyses, and recommendations.
- Develop process documentation including work instructions, routing, workflow charts, floor layouts, and material-handling diagrams (e.g., MS Visio , MindManager ).
- Perform time studies to establish production standards, identify improvement opportunities, and optimize efficiency.
- Train production staff on new equipment, processes, flow manufacturing concepts, and proper data collection.
- Support continuous improvement and quality goals , helping eliminate process issues, analyzing defect severity, and preventing recurring quality problems.
- Assist other departments with process improvements and SMIs; support tooling technicians with machine and die repair and preventive maintenance coordination.
- Program and operate automated machinery to meet production needs and drive efficiency improvements.
- Apply Kepner-Tregoe (KT) problem-solving and decision-making methodologies as needed.
- Create and manage purchase requests , working with Supply Chain and Accounting to ensure timely vendor payments.
- Study production operations , establish standard rates, analyze costs, and recommend changes to improve productivity.
- Lead and participate in project teams , handling planning, coordination, execution, reporting, and presentations to management.
- Review manufacturing changes for compliance with safety and regulatory standards in coordination with Safety and Maintenance.
- Develop and improve manufacturing equipment , including designing and building jigs, fixtures, testers, and tooling; modifying or sourcing equipment; and preparing capital justification packages (POR, CER, payback analysis, NPV, etc.).
- Research new technologies and present findings on emerging manufacturing methods, equipment, and best practices.
- Program, diagnose, and troubleshoot PLC applications as needed.
- Support automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives , including machine-vision systems, robotics, data collection systems, and IIoT implementations; own the setup, programming, troubleshooting, and training of these systems.
- Manage manufacturing engineering projects using standard project-management techniques; maintain project documentation and deliver clear progress updates.
- Provide general ME administrative support , help facilitate manufacturing training sessions (e.g., Self-Balancing Flow), and perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor of Engineering or related technical field, with a minimum of 5 years [MI1] of related experience.Familiarity with machinery and production equipmentExcellent leadership and communication skills.Demonstrated skills in the following areas : team / project leadership, oral and written communication, and analytical problem-solving.The technical background should include hands-on experience.Communication

Sufficient mechanical aptitude to understand the manufacturing processes is required. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, bills of material, and shop routings.
