Reputable Consulting Engineering Firm seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / PM. Vaughan. $90K - $120K

Our client is a consulting engineering firm with a strong history of providing mechanical & electrical engineering services to clients within the mission critical, commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects.
Their growing office in Toronto is currently seeking a mechanical engineer to take on a key role within the organization and help grow the mechanical team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for completing small to large-scale projects within established budgets and schedules.
He or she has a wide range of experience, knowledge and skills, and manages functional priorities. The engineer supervises the resources assigned to technical work in his or her discipline, and designs cost-effective and practical solutions to mechanical engineering challenges.
He or she acts as a resource person for less experienced colleagues.
The Mechanical Engineer works independently, prioritizing work according to overall objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and supervise the design of engineering documents, plans, specifications, addendums and change notices required for the realization of building projects, ventilation systems, automatic regulation, air conditioning, heating, cooling and plumbing systems, in compliance with established standards and in coordination with other disciplines;
- Determine construction costs and quantities in accordance with standard methods and established plans and specifications;
- Participate in feasibility studies, building health check reports, engineering due diligence reports, functional and technical programs (FTP), and contribute to report writing;
- Oversee and / or perform site surveys, inspections, reports and site supervision, including coordination with contractors and other disciplines;
- Review or supervise review of shop drawings and completion documents;
- Make recommendations regarding payment of work;
- Identify, analyze and validate customer needs and requests;
- Participate to the elaboration of service offers, including the breakdown of projects into work lots and the evaluation of the work hours required to complete projects;
- Participate in relations with project stakeholders and ensure their satisfaction;
- Ensures the conformity of the work done by the personnel involved in its projects and performs design quality assurance in its discipline;
- Participate in project post-mortems.
What you'll need to succeed
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, member of Professional Engineers Ontario
- PEO);
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering services;
- Good technical knowledge : ventilation systems, automatic regulation, air conditioning,
- heating, cooling and plumbing;
- Technical knowledge : fire protection systems (an asset);
- Good knowledge of the codes and standards in force, including the National Plumbing
- Code, ASHRAE standards and the National Building Code;
- Knowledge of the National Energy Code for Buildings (an asset);
- Fluency in spoken and written English;
- Knowledge of energy efficiency subsidy programs (an asset);
- Good knowledge of the Office suite;
