Our client is an excellently managed boutique Mechanical & Electrical Consulting Engineering firm with a track record of delivering quality design, engineering, and project management services to high-profile clients and projects. They offer full scale Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Design services relevant to a large variety ofmercial, Institutional, Industrial and High-Rise Residential Building Construction projects of different scopes and sizes across the GTA. Their growing office in Toronto is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager, you will manage and execute the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems relevant tomercial and Institutional Building Construction projects, as well as work directly with external construction consultants and architects. Your responsibilities will include mechanical engineering calculations, including construction building heat gain / loss calculations, system friction losses, energy analysis, and equipment sizing & selection.As part of your interactions with clients and external construction vendors, you will conduct detailed site surveys and inspections, review shop drawings and prepare design / construction documents relevant to HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire protection systems for projects in the Toronto area.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4-8 years’ experience in the local consulting engineering space, with a demonstrated history of autonomously coordinating and executing projects with minimal supervision. A Mechanical Engineering degree from a Canadian institution will also be required. With your apanying degree, your knowledge of Ontario Building Codes, ASHRAE 62.1, NFPA 96, 13 will be essential. A (P. Eng) designation would be an asset, but is not a strict requirement for the role.Previous experience in Mechanical HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire protection projects will be ideal for the role. Exceptional time management, organisational skills andmunication skills will be essential to your success.
