The new Thomson Centre features private, light-filled rooms with the addition of sensory rooms, lounges, relaxation and activity spaces designed to enhance the experience of patients, families, caregivers and staff.

In keeping with best-practice innovations, we are pleased to be implementing Safewards, a new model designed to improve quality of care, prevent workplace violence and enhance safety for our patients, visitors and staff.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of comprehensive psychiatric nursing care, including assessment of patients and families, group therapies, discharge planning and coordination on an acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit and in the MHEAZ (Mental Health Emergency Assessment Zone) of the Emergency Department. The RN may also be required to work in other mental health services and programs, based on operational needs .

Education

• Registered Nurse with current certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BScN preferred
• CPMHN(C) is an asset
