Job Title : Senior Mainframe Application Developer

Work Arrangement

Onsite 5 days / week

MondayFriday 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM

Role Summary

The Senior Mainframe Application Developer will be responsible for end-to-end design development maintenance and support of large-scale mainframe applications. The role involves working with hierarchical databases legacy systems and enterprise-grade tools while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams throughout the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

Design develop test debug and maintain mainframe applications

Translate system and business specifications into working tested solutions

Perform IMS database reorganization unload / reload and recovery activities

Manage server-side logic and ensure performance reliability and responsiveness

Troubleshoot production issues and provide post-implementation support

Maintain technical and user documentation

Participate in design walkthroughs and structured development methodologies

Collaborate with developers analysts and stakeholders to meet delivery timelines

Required Skills & Experience

Core Experience (Mandatory)

10 years of experience in programming and systems analysis

10 years working with structured development methodologies

10 years in full lifecycle application development (design code test debug document)

10 years experience with hierarchical databases :

IMS DB

VSAM

IMS DB Reorganization Unload / Reload Recovery Control

10 years hands-on experience with :

Enterprise COBOL

Assembler

JCL

TSO / ISPF

REXX

CLIST

BTS

Mainframe & Tools

IMS DB / DC (Full Function & FASTPATH)

CA Telon (3GL development)

IBM ACB BDB PSB generation

CA Easytrieve CA SAR

CA Scheduler File-Aid Abend-Aid

IBM 3270 SNA NDM and related communication protocols

Domain Experience

Experience with property registration systems (PPSR or similar) preferred

Experience working in large enterprise environments with defined policies and procedures

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Clear verbal and written communication

Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Proven ability to meet deadlines in high-dependency environments

Nice to Have

Experience with internet-ready applications and middleware

Knowledge of rapid application development (RAD) methodologies
