Associate Graphic Designer
The opportunity
You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and delivering (on brief and on deadline) communication and marketing materials for a variety of internal and external channels.
The incumbent will ideate, storyboard, and consult on video productions to shoot video and take photographs when required.
Who you’ll work with
You will report to Senior Manager, Creative Production. You’ll collaborate closely with all members of Marketing & Collaboration team.
What you’ll do
Design graphic materials for various digital and print mediums (e.g. email, digital display, social media, environmental / wayfinding, signage, PowerPoint, corporate reports, intranet, website, and other mediums).
Ensure all graphic materials are on-brand, to spec, and align with OTPP brand guidelines.
Collaborate with Marketing & Communications team, as well as a variety of other internal teams and functions, to understand project requirements.
Translate complicated business requirements, user needs, and technical requirements to produce easy to use and engaging static designs and multi-media / video graphic materials.
Tailor creative outputs to meet Marketing’s targeted performance metrics.
Provide creative solutions by way of clear communication with an acute attention to detail.
Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and manage ongoing projects, often with quick turnaround times, as assigned.
Assist Senior Manager, Creative Production to select external freelance resources, should outsourcing be necessary.
Act as a brand consultant for outsourced design projects.
Shoot photography and videography when in-house multimedia execution and production are required.
Support the expansion and maintenance of design / brand guidelines by building new reference guidelines and updating existing guidelines.
Stay on top of competitor and industry trends to help inform design decisions.
Required to stay on top of industry trends and design innovations and use these learnings to inform decisions when working through projects.
Work is performed under the general direction of the Senior Manager, Creative Production, with the expectation for making independent decisions.
The candidate will have design authority.

What you’ll need
4+ years of experience in a graphic design role, ideally within a large financial services or investment organization.
A degree or diploma in graphic design or a related discipline.
A strong portfolio that demonstrates skills and advanced knowledge in print and digital design execution, brand identity, integrated marketing material design, art direction, multimedia (motion graphics / video / photography), and image retouching.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (exceptional technical skills in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
Proficiency in designing and formatting interactive PowerPoint presentations and crafting designs tailored to enhance financial reporting, including annual results.
Experience using video editing software tools, e.g. Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
Experience using collaborative web-based design tools, e.g. Figma and Canva.
Experience in email platform design / function, e.g. Mailchimp.
Experience working in an agile environment and utilizing project management tools, e.g. JIRA and Confluence.
Experience providing art direction for large-scale conferences and events.
Experience in multimedia design and production motion graphics, video, audio, and photography; familiarity to support and provide in-house photography and videography services.
A high level of judgment is required in planning their own capacity and coordinating projects.
Ability to work with senior leaders to advise and influence on creative ideas and concepts.
This job is considered a moderately complex position that requires a mix of independent thinking and teamwork collaboration when completing tasks.
Must have a good balance of creativity and technical knowledge when working through projects and making design decisions.
Ability to work cross-functionally across the OTPP team.
