Position Responsibilities

As a Sr Principal Software Architect at Deltek, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical vision and architecture of our software solutions. You will be responsible for designing robust systems, specifying both functional and non-functional requirements, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This is a strategic position that collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that support Deltek’s mission of empowering project-based businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and review of complex software systems and architectures.

Specify functional and non-functional requirements for projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance product capabilities.

Ensure architectural integrity, scalability, and security across all software solutions.

Mentor and guide development teams in best practices and architectural standards.

Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.

Drive continuous improvement and innovation in system design and implementation.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in system design and review for enterprise-level software.

Proven ability to specify and document functional and non-functional requirements.

Strong understanding of software architecture principles and patterns.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Demonstrated leadership in technical decision-making and project delivery.

Experience with cloud-based architecture and microservices.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to enterprise software.

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Prior experience with mentoring technical teams.
