This is a permanent part-time (0.5FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2025

The Role

As part of our Student Services team, the School psychologist will provide expertise, support and in depth knowledge to enable the school to meet the educational needs of students at educational risk, including those with disabilities.

They will complete observations and assessments, compile reports, liaise with parents, conduct case conferences and work with the school to ensure staff capacity is built.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Learning Support Co-Ordinator to select and prioritise cases, as well as provide support at point of need.

As our School Psychologist, you will ideally possess excellent inter-personal skills and display a high level of professionalism.

You will be an integral part of the Greenfields team and a commitment to our positive school culture will be an essential for anyone wishing to fulfil this role.

The ability to liaise with a range of therapists and outside agencies that work with our students will also be a necessary skill for the successful applicant.

The school’s service plan is devised in conjunction with the school psychologist to ensure the role meets the needs of the school’s context.

As an independent public school, our school caters for over 400 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our motto is Together We Grow and all directions the school takes are guided by this.

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
  • consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
  • Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
