Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at our hotel and restaurant establishment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our business while working in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities :

1.Manage all aspects of financial record-keeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

2.Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow to ensure accuracy and consistency.

3.Prepare monthly financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets.

4.Work under the supervision of our Accounting Controller in Vancouver to setup accounting procedures and to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and compliance with internal controls.

5.Provide financial information to assist with budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic planning and decision-making.

6.Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.

7.Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by management.

8.Daily cash reconciliation of all server and bartender sales envelopes.

9.Daily cash reconciliation of bar cash drawers and floats.

10.Make bank deposits and maintain cash float for the bar cash drawers.

11.Tip reconciliation for service staff and reimbursing cash cards.

Qualifications :

  • Diploma in accounting required. Degree in accounting an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a bookkeeper, accountant, or similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
