Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Quality Analyst - Intermediate for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Brampton. In this role, you will play a crucial part in a comprehensive data quality improvement initiative designed to support the modernization of development application tracking systems.

As a Data Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing, validating, cleansing, updating, and maintaining critical records within a large, complex dataset. You will examine source documentation, extract key metrics, resolve discrepancies, and ensure data integrity to support accurate growth forecasting, infrastructure planning, and operational decision-making. This role is heavily focused on document review, quality control, and cross-referencing complex information across municipal planning systems.

Location: Brampton, ON

Assignment Type: Hybrid (Primarily remote, with office attendance required for meetings, training, and first/last days)

Contract Duration: 6-month contract

Responsibilities
Review development application files and validate information against source documentation across all historical submissions.

Examine planning forms, site plans, approval notices, clearance letters, and registration documents to verify project details.

Extract and validate residential unit counts by housing type and gross floor area (GFA) by land use classification.

Track development changes through multiple application resubmissions, documenting revisions to scope, units, and metrics.

Verify application milestones and status dates using official approval documentation, registration records, and municipal notices.

Identify data discrepancies, missing information, and inconsistencies by cross-referencing related files and databases.

Flag complex records requiring technical escalation, clarification, or correction in alignment with data governance standards.

Enter validated information into tracking systems and databases while maintaining accurate progress and workload reports.

Support the cleanup, historical normalization, and future migration of development records.

Qualifications
Core Technical & Data Requirements
Data Quality Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience leading data quality, data cleansing, and validation initiatives.

Advanced Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for managing, auditing, and reconciling large datasets.

Complex Datasets & Systems: Demonstrated experience working with complex datasets, data validation techniques, and records/document management systems.

Domain & GIS Systems Exposure: Practical experience working with GIS platforms, planning databases, or municipal records systems.

Soft Skills & Delivery Attributes
Analytical & Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical capabilities to spot trends, detect data errors, and systematically resolve record discrepancies.

Documentation & Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
