Are you passionate about health and safety, skilled in driving improvements, and enjoy working collaboratively to create safer workplaces?
As a health and safety specialist , you will implement, manage and support the Best Buy health and safety management system at the western distribution centre & Geek Squad City (service depot). You will play a key role in driving continual improvement within the OHS function.
Please note : This is an on-site position, with some local travel across the lower mainland.

What you'll do :
- Identify, monitor, evaluate and track all OHS activities through audits and record keeping methods
- Deliver appropriate training to reduce hazards and the potential for accidents in the workplace
- Lead the full investigation on major accidents and incidents
- Lead the continuous improvement process to ensure OHS compliance
- Utilize technical knowledge to identify and address workplace risks and hazards
- Work with the senior manager to ensure that training programs are complaint to the provincial OHS regulations
- Provide OHS knowledge, expertise and guidance to employees and key stakeholders
- Be the key company representative with Labor and Health authorities for all OHS related activities
- Lead all activities related to the organization's participation in provincial certification / rebate programs e.g., BC COR, ON HSEP
- Provide occasional support to retail stores in the Lower Mainland
