Job Description
Summary of the Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer :
A Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer is needed for a direct-hire position at one of our clients based in Bordentown, NJ. This company is a leading developer of advanced power systems, including transformers, inductors, capacitors and power supplies for multiple industries (medical, industrial, commercial, military, etc.). In this position, you will be the team's subject matter expert for embedded development. Your work will be focused in the development of brand new power technologies, both for internal products and custom designs for clients. You'll take your projects from initial concept design to production, including troubleshooting issues working directly with internal teams and customers.
This is an opportunity to take the lead in developing embedded technologies key to innovations in the power industry, with global applications. The company offers you a high-visibility role in your projects, where you will be a key contributor to your projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent education), Master’s Degree would be a plus.
- 7+ years of experience developing embedded software / firmware through the full development life-cycle.
- Excellent working experience with C / C++.
- Background in RTOS-based development (TI RTOS DSP-BIOS / SYS-BIOS a plus)
- Knowledge of .Net and Python is a plus.
- Familiarity with TCP / IP networking and communication interfaces (serial, SPI, I2C)
- Prior Experience with Industrial Fieldbus Communication protocols (Ethernet I / P, Profinet I / O), PLC logic, and TI DSP is a plus.
- Proven ability to effectively develop in multiple programming languages and programming environments
- Ability to take ownership of product and to do what it takes to see it through to completion
- Ability to work without supervision
- Responsible for design, develop, debug, and maintain software that is well documented and complies with current standards and best practices
- Hands on experience working with 32-bit microcontrollers or Digital Signal Processors is also a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work between multiple development teams.
