Technical Consultant I, Water Scientist
Responsibilities
and Key Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be dedicated to a top-tier client’s oil sands operation and work on a field rotation schedule of 15 days on site (including mobilization and demobilization) followed by 15 days off.
Accommodation while on rotation is at a camp near the client’s site
- Travel to and from Fort McMurray, Calgary, or Edmonton is via the client’s charter flights and bus service.
- A commitment to a minimum period of 24 months on the rotation schedule is required.
- Perform tasks as requested efficiently and accurately, using standard methods and techniques;
- Aquatic, groundwater, and / or surface water monitoring;
- Safely conducting field work, field data collection, and documentation;
- Tracking and reporting on field activity; and
- Preparing supporting documentation for reports, data checking & assessments.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in environmental studies;
- 3-5+ years of practical experience in environmental monitoring;
- Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Experience in either the oil and gas industry or mining is considered an asset; and
- Familiarity with Argo operation would be beneficial.
