Blachford Lake Lodge and Arctic Kingdom are seeking Caretakers to oversee lodge operations during non-tourism and maintenance periods. This role is intended for a couple, partners, friends, or colleagues who are looking to live and work together in a remote, off-grid environment. Applicants should apply on behalf of both individuals.

Caretakers act in an interim management role and are responsible for the safe, efficient operation and upkeep of the lodge, serving as the primary communication link between the site and the Blachford Project Management Team. Duties vary by season and operational needs.

Working off-grid requires flexibility, strong communication, and adaptability. Days can be long and unpredictable, but the role offers a rare opportunity to live and work in one of the most extraordinary locations in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations during off-season and maintenance periods
• Maintain safety, emergency preparedness, and daily check-ins
• Coordinate contractors, visitors, inspections, and occasional staff
• Maintain lodge facilities, systems, equipment, and grounds
• Manage inventory, purchasing, and receipt of supplies
• Support development projects, repairs, and seasonal preparations
• Maintain trails, docks, firewood supply, and site access
• Support aircraft operations (airstrip, helipad, arrivals / departures)
• Assist with kitchen cleaning and food service as needed
