DUTIES
& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produces and programs documents for print using predefined components and graphic creation software. Provides accurate materials for production.
- Creates job tickets through print management system.
- Coordinates Print Services work by scheduling and prioritizing work orders. Processes print orders through web services. Creates and updates electronic workflow documentation.
- Ensures integrity and quality of electronic documents for print through assessment or repair. Liaises with Copyright to ensure documents have been reviewed and approved. Provides proof documents.
- Provides technical advice to clients.
- Operates print equipment.
- Maintains, cleans and provides minor service repairs to equipment.
- Assists with cost estimates on print work orders.
- Provides face-to-face customer service, including operation of cash register.
- Provides support to the student printer fleet by replacing toner and filling paper.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION :
Grade 12, plus completion of a relevant two-year diploma, or a minimum two-year apprenticeship in graphic, pre-press skills.EXPERIENCE :
Four years’ experience with digital prepress software applications including :
Demonstrated ability in the use of document management and creation softwareExperience utilizing print equipmentRetail experience in a customer-facing roleSKILLS KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES RELATED TO THE JOB
Ability to deal with others effectivelyAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to organize workAbility to operate related equipment such as digital printing equipment, bindery equipment, and cash register.Ability to operate print management software applicationsWORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to lift weights over 10 kgThe salary for the above position is determined by the Collective Agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 4879, as it presently exists.
