Plant Tissue Culture Lab Technician

The Plant Tissue Culture Lab Technician is responsible for independently supporting day-to-day operations in the tissue culture laboratory. This includes maintaining sterile lab conditions, preparing and sterilizing media, supporting micropropagation activities (including plantlet transfers and subculturing), monitoring plant health, and assisting with intake processes. This role is ideal for a highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual with a passion for laboratory work.

Essential Functions

Sterilization & Lab Hygiene

• Clean and sterilize the laminar flow hood daily to maintain a contamination-free workspace.
• Maintain overall lab cleanliness and sanitation to uphold sterile conditions.
• Sterilize instruments, glassware, and consumables, and dispose of waste in accordance with established protocols / SOPs.

Media & Materials Preparation

Micropropagation & Subculturing

Culture Monitoring & Quality Control

Operational Coverage & Intake Support

Inventory, Documentation & Equipment Support
