The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and field-oriented Demolition Coordinator to play a crucial role in the successful execution of Diavik’s decommissioning and demolition scopes. This hands-on position will focus on monitoring and tracking on-site progress, identifying coordination needs, and ensuring our support as the Owner is timely and effective.

About The Role
As the Demolition Coordinator, you will spend the majority of your time in the field, actively monitoring the demolition contractor's progress, as well as overseeing and coordinating the work of Diavik employees and other contractors involved in decommissioning activities. You'll verify adherence to plans and document activities across all these groups. You'll be crucial in identifying upcoming coordination requirements, such as access needs, utility disconnections, or material handling and logistics, and communicating these proactively to the relevant teams. Your role will be to ensure the demolition contractor, Diavik employees, and other site teams have the necessary support and to maintain schedule and efficiency. Daily reporting on progress is an important aspect of the role and will formally be included in the project records.
This position requires strong observational skills, excellent communication and organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Reporting to the Demolition Lead, based at the Lac de Gras Diavik Mine site, the role follows a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotational schedule.

Located in the Northwest Territories of Canada, the Diavik Diamond Mine is approaching its active closure phase. As the mine progresses through responsible closure, accommodations and site facilities will be in a state of change and team members will need to be flexible and resourceful in this evolving environment.
