Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Insurance Programs, the Insurance Program Specialist manages a suite of insurance programs including self‑insurance, fleet insurance, property insurance, construction liability, commercial premises and operating insurance. Responsibilities include investigating, negotiating and settling claims; assessing insurance risk exposure; drafting policy wording and contractual clauses; evaluating insurance requirements; liaising with insurance companies, brokers, the Ministry of Finance’s Risk Management Branch, legal counsel and internal stakeholders. The role also delivers training, drafts guidelines and procedures, and fosters stakeholder relationships.
