Position Overview

Kamloops Fire Rescue is looking for a dedicated Communications Operator to join our fast-paced, high-impact team. Under the guidance of our Lead Communications Officer and operational leadership, you’ll be at the heart of emergency response—fielding 911 calls, coordinating fire dispatch, supporting first responders, and helping keep our community safe. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications :

• Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Job specific testing will be required.

Please note, this is a temporary position until approximately August 2027 or return of incumbent.

A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is an IAFF local 913 position. Hours & Days of Work

Shifts could include :

Flex Communications Operators shall work a maximum of three hundred and thirty-six (336) hours in a fifty-six (56) day cycle. Please see attached LOU #4 for scheduling details.
