The Automation Specialist is responsible for programming, debugging, installation and startup of new or modified production and test equipment from the perspective of controls installation.
Here’s what you will do as a Automation Specialist :
- Prepare functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of operations
- Development and support of PLC and HMI programs for use on industrial equipment
- Application and setup of VFD and multi axis servo control systems
- Integration of specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiency
- Panel design (AUTOCAD)
- Commission and trouble shoot robotic applications
- Assist customers and / or co-workers with electrical / programming issues
- Assist with specifications for purchase of electrical components
- Respond to emergency service requirements including participating in a weekend coverage schedule with fellow team members
- Provide electrical machine commissioning and / or technical support both on and off-site
- Field installation work requires travel to customer's facilities

Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for :
- 2 - 5 years of "hands on" Controls experience
- Proficient in industrial machine controls, electrical systems, PLC and HMI programming with a working knowledge of multi axis servo systems
- Able to create CAD drawings for assembly and wiring control panels and instrumentation
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skill in organization and problem solving
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Understanding of production machine, and machine tool capabilities
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to the automation field
- Program Allen-Bradley, Omron and Siemens PLC's and HMI’s
- Robot Programming and troubleshooting is a plus
- Understanding Networking basics
- SQL / DBA experience is a plus
