Job Description
North West Group is a leading geomatics firm that specializes in aerial acquisition and processing. We are currently seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our team for an 8-month term internship placement.
The ideal candidate would be flexible in their work schedule, be able to work efficiently within a team, have excellent communication skills and is highly organized.
Attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines are required.
Main duties include :
- Adhere to established quality assurance / quality control processes for incoming raw image data from field; ensure imagery meets project quality specifications
- Preparation and quality control of orthorectification DEM
- Preparation of data for aerotriangulation
- Creation and quality assurance of ortho-rectified imagery
- Creation and quality assurance of photogrammetrically derived points clouds
- Assisting in product deliverables to clients
Desired Skills
In addition to the above requirements, the following would be considered assets :
- Degree in Geography, Geomatics, or other related degree or equivalent 2-year work experience in a production environment
- Proficiency with GIS software (ArcMap, Global Mapper, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience or post-secondary coursework with remote sensing data
- Knowledge of DEM / DSM, aerotriangulation, orthophotos, and point cloud data
- Background in Computer Science and working knowledge of high level languages such as Java, Python, C# or Perl is advantageous
