Do you possess the skills to aid in the development of an anti-money laundering compliance program for online gaming? If so, the Director, AML Compliance role is ready for you!
Reporting to the Executive Director, as the Director AML Compliance, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and ongoing administration of the Government of Alberta’s AML compliance program for Alberta’s new online gambling model.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Develop and implement an effective AML compliance program for the Government of Alberta.
- Lead the Government of Alberta’s AML compliance program for online gaming.
- Provide advice to executive management on AML obligations.
- Lead a team to meet Alberta’s online gambling obligations.
- Provide advice to industry stakeholders for effective compliance.
- Liaise with stakeholders to support effective reporting systems.
- Build a high performing team by establishing necessary training and objectives.
Minimum Requirements :
- A post-secondary degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, criminology, business administration).
- Minimum of 7 years of management experience in an AML compliance environment.
Experience or knowledge that will be considered an asset :
- Experience in developing and launching new program initiatives.
- Knowledge of money laundering typologies and risk mitigation controls.
- Experience building a high-performing team.
- Experience using data for strategic planning.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
The successful candidate will have :
- In-depth understanding of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act.
- Clear awareness of Alberta’s gambling regulatory environment.
- Understanding of government decision making processes.
- Knowledge of the gambling industries and implications of proposed policy.
Hours of Work :
7.25 hours a day / 36.25 hours a week.
