As a Jr. Environmental Scientist or Technologist, you will join our Fort St. John, British Columbia office as part of our busy Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Assessment (ARRM) team.

The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows :

  • Active participation in maintaining Matrix’s strong safety culture
  • Assist with the field coordination and execution of Stage 1 and 2 environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring programs, remediation, and reclamation, soil, and vegetation assessments
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, work plans, and cost estimates
  • Participate in spill responses and associated clean-up activities
  • Travel as required to support field programs
  • Assist with other service line projects when needed.

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree or technical diploma in the environmental sciences or engineering field
  • 1-2 years of related experience, or willingness to learn on the job
  • Function effectively as part of a collaborative team
  • Service-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. equipment, coolers)
  • A valid driver’s license with no restrictions and clean driving record.
