Treasury Analyst – Region of Peel
Treasury Services is responsible for cash management, debt management, investment management, and banking. The Treasury Analyst plays a critical role in cash‑flow forecasting, debt program support, trade settlement, journal entry preparation, and banking activity support for the Region and its municipalities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily short‑term cash‑flow forecasts to support portfolio earnings optimisation.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to anticipate material cash inflows and outflows and reduce projection variances.
- Manage and maintain commercial bank accounts for wire transfers, compliance, user access, terms of reference, and fraud management.
- Provide analysis for monthly, tri‑annual, quarterly, and annual reporting presented to senior management.
- Manage settlement of trades related to the Region’s investment portfolio.
- Maintain the Region’s debt portfolio, ensuring all principal and interest payments are submitted to CDS.
- Prepare journal entries for the General Fund, Sinking Fund, Letters of Credit, and bank charge activities.
- Prepare and consolidate all journal entries, calculations, and supporting documentation for the year‑end audit process.
- Update daily dashboards on cash‑flow forecasting, investment‑portfolio compliance, and debt‑related payments within the treasury‑management system.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree in economics, commerce, statistics, accounting, or equivalent experience.Minimum three years of experience in Treasury, banking, or a related environment.Combination of education and experience may be considered.Skills & Abilities
